Hazel Carpenter Home is committed to offering a dignified lifestyle in an environment that promotes happiness, life enrichment, independence, security and meaningful living to older adults.
The Hazel L. Carpenter Home is licensed by the State of New York as a private, non-profit adult care facility that is open to men and women. Administrators and staff proudly maintain a family type residence − one that is attractive, convenient, caringly overseen, and comfortably adapted to the needs of the elderly.
The home provides 23 individual rooms. Residents are encouraged to furnish and decorate them with their own possessions and furniture. There are several lounges where residents may gather informally and a single large dining room, which serves a menu plan devised by a certified dietician. A large side porch and small deck provide opportunities for enjoying the out-of-doors during the summer months. Click here to take a tour of our facility.
Activities for the residents and social programs are provided in order to enhance the quality of life. There is a range of activities that includes restaurant lunches, bingo, exercise, movies, pen pal exchanges from a nearby elementary school, musical programs and church services held every Sunday. Participation in these activities depends on individual interests and personal choices. A hairdresser visits the premises weekly and a consultation with a Podiatrist is available also, as permitted within Medicare coverage.
The monthly fees are as low as prudently possible while still allowing the House Managers to meet their fiduciary responsibilities. The Home is incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation and has an endowment accured over the years from bequests by former residents and other sources.
Residents of the Home are provided with a private room, well-planned and nutritious meals and a laundry service. While this is not a nursing home, some assistance is given in personal care where it is needed, such as distribution of medication.
Potential residents and interested persons are encouraged to contact us and arrange a tour of the Home with the administrator.
