What are the residents criteria ?
A resident has to be independent with activities of daily living; i.e.: must be able to feed, dress, transfer self, (walkers and canes are allowed). The resident must be continent or manage their own bladder/ bowel regime.
Is the management staff experienced ?
Current administrator has been in the position for 13 plus years. She is also a licensed practical nurse with 25 years of geriatric experience. Nursing supervisor has been on staff for 11 years. The staff is available 24 hours, 7 days a week and most of the time the 3-11 shift has a LPN.
Are staff members friendly ?
The staff is friendly, respectful, and puts the residents needs first.
Is the home clean and comfortable ?
There is a full time housekeeper on staff. The common areas, resident's rooms, and kitchen neat and organized.
Is this a place children would like to visit ?
Children are welcome at the home and they are very much appreciated by the residents. Many activities revolve around the children, i.e.: pen pal program and day care visits.
Are meals appealing and well balanced ?
We have a spring, fall, winter, and summer menu. We have a consulting dietitian who oversees all the menus.
Is the location convenient to friends and family?
Located on Main St. in Oneida, NY, which is located just off Route 5 and conviently located near churches and stores. There is also a city van that is used to transport residents to any functions needed.
Are there enjoyable activities planned for residents?
The activities for the residents are provided in order to enhance the quality of life. There is a range of activities that include: restaurant lunches, movies, exercise, church services, and pen pal exchange.
